Usage Policy been applied

I am writing in this forum even though I have emailed PN direct as they have still not replied to my initial emails but insist on applying usage monitoring in successive levels -

Hi,

I sent the following reply to an email a few days ago and have received no response -

----------------------------------------------

Hi,

I have reviewed my current usage in this billing period and find your actions rather unreasonable.

I am WELL within the stated 30GB limit between 4pm and midnight (currently around 9GB) and also well within the 100GB/month total (currently around 32GB) for my package so I would ask you reply to me stating what limits I have exceeded for this new speed limit to be applied to me.

Also, from what I can see, PlusNet have failed to follow their Usage Management policy as I have not yet received the "warning email" which is meant to be sent PRIOR to any restrictions being placed on my account so that I am made aware of the possibility I may exceed my allocation and review my usage accordingly without PlusNet having to step in. This would be the only way I can be aware of my total usage as the "View My Usage" tool still does not show upload usage months after PlusNet insisted this would be shown to allow users to monitor total bandwidth.

I look forward to your reply

Richard

You were then kind enough to send me a further email stating that Level 2 usage monitoring will be applied to my account as follows -

Dear Mr Richard Scott,

Your peak-time P2P, FTP and Usenet usage has exceeded the second level of
the Broadband Premier usage policy. To find out more about the published
usage limits please go to
http://www.plus.net/support/broadband/network/traffic_management.shtml

Level 2 management has been applied to your service during peak hours for
P2P, FTP and Usenet. All other protocols are not affected by this change to
your service.

Your Broadband service will continue to be managed until your next billing
date at which time peak-time usage management will be removed. If your peak
usage continues to increase further peak-time usage management levels may
be applied to your service.

Please reduce your usage and schedule large downloads outside the hours of
8am to midnight.

Thank you for your cooperation.

Kind Regards,
PlusNet Customer Support

I would be obligied if you could answer my first question as I STILL feel I have NOT exceeded any limits and that my bandwidth usage has dramatically FALLEN over the last 2-3 months when comparing it to the previous months.

Thanks

Richard

I have been with PN for nigh on 2 years and NEVER had a problem before with usage.

What I find completely unacceptable is that PN will probably reply saying my upload is what is taking it over the limits when the usage monitoring tool they PROMISED many months ago to HELP us keep our usage in check is STILL not able to show upload usage.

I find this strange as PN can tell how much you upload and download in order to apply these ridiculous limits yet we have no access to them.

You cannot reply to the emails as it clearly states at the end:

You need to raise a ticket via contact us (under help & support) or ring the support number to discuss you situation.

Also the emails refer to the P2P/Usenet/FTP traffic limits not the SUP limits, which is an additional restriction imposed and is explained here

Also, surely it's the "Clean To" allowance, and not the 30GB peaktime that you've fell foul of?

Have you looked at what it says on the page which they link to? http://www.plus.net/support/broadband/network/traffic_management.shtml
