Upgrade costs - can they be avoided.

Hi,

I am currently on the 1MB Home Lite Package.

Just running though the upgrade options and it appears I can change to the

2MB PAYG for a one off fee of £29.99 and then £14.99 a month.

or the 2MB BroadBand Plus for a one off fee of £14.99 and then £14.99 a month.

I like the PAYG product for its extra features but is there any way to avoid the £29.99 fee? Seems a little steep.

Or should I just wait for regrading to happen and pay nothing. Then swith to the PAYG package.

Jeff.

I don't see why the fee for changing to payg should be any different to + I would have thought it would be £14.99 for the change in package and an extra £14.99 if you have a Q jump upgrade.

Anyone care to correct me?

yep that is how it works out, tried the different options on the upgrade tool.

But now thinking that the + package would be better.

But like the lower contention ratio on the PAYG....

Ahhhh. too much choice.

Do you use P2P?

No.

Lots of Web space?

... not really. Only currently using 0.4% of my web space (1MB).

Do you use advanced webspace features?

I do use Front Page to write my web page. But other than a counter.. nothing fancy.

Do you download a lot?

Apart from this month (exeption) I am usually under 1GB.

The move you describe should only cost £14.99

You remain on the same product paying the same amount, thus is considered an upgrade, or no charge.

However, due to the requirement to submit a regrade to BT, to increase the speed to 2Mb, a £14.99 charge is incured.

If you are worried you are going to be charged, request the change via a ticket instead.
