Unable to send email

Today I am getting the following error message ...

"Task 'mail.plus.net - Sending' reported error (0x8004210B) : 'The operation timed out waiting for a response from the sending (SMTP) server. If you continue to receive this message, contact your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP).'

... which appeared when I tried to reply to an incoming email at around 9:30 am, and has appeared at intervals since each time Outlook tries to send my reply / email.

Outlook 2003 is using "relay.plus.net" as the outgoing mail server (SMTP), and if I click "Test Account Settings" in Outlook it reports it is able to find the "outgoing mail server (SMTP)".

Otherwise my connection appears fine, and Outlook is able to synchronise fine with my Hotmail account, and I have received incoming +Net mail this morning.

Is there a problem @ +Net please?

What if any anti-spam or virus scanning do you have on your computer?
Do you have anything like Norton?

Did it update overnight at all?
