Traffic Management - What happens at 12 pm (midday) -

Can someone from plusnet please explain what happens at 12 noon.

I had a torrent downloading at 300 KB/s (great) also uploading at 40 KB/s constant.

looked at the activity graph and at exactly midday the torrent speed dropped to below 20KB/s and uploads to below 10KB/s, and are remaining there.

come on plusnet, whats going on, this has happened before, does somebody hit a switch ??

this kind of severe traffic throttling on a premier account is just simply not acceptable.

peak time (premier) = 4pm - 12am ..

'plusnet traffic management' it's all becoming too obvious i'm afraid.

Hi Bobbygeorge,

Can't see anything glaringly obvious in our graphs to suggest that this is happening, but will chase and try and get an answer for you this afternoon.

Thanks James,

I have checked both my activity logs and they show the sudden drop off at exactly 12 noon.

This is almost certainly an ellacoya issue.

It certainly can't be network capacity related as things have improved significantly since the new pipe went live.

It would be a shame if this management problem was to replace the capacity issue regarding poor speeds.
