Dear Mr Antrobus,
In order to investigate this further can you perform three speedtests one of which has to be performed between 12am and 7am
The instructions to run the tests are on the following link

Has interleaving been applyed to your account? (check in router stats page)

also were you on 2mb before the MAXDSL. If so, did you achive a good speed then?

Interleaving is not applied on my account and yes I had 2mb before..And line was stable then....I have a few CRC + HEC errors but these are minimal compared to the received superframes fast and transmited superframes fast..Less than 1% overall of which I have been told is not a problem oh and yes I always acheived top speed on 2mb

Interleaving shouldn't cause issues such as this one, as its generally something that they'd try along with reducing the speed that you're synching at.

I've bounced the ticket through to our faults team and they'll pick it up on your behalf and investigate further.

Same here Sad

But by the time PN and BT have finished "making my broadband work as it was sold to me" i.e. ACTUALLY WORKING and I whack an invoice in their direction for dial-up costs, failing to provide a service on a REGULAR basis, then I'll probably be able to retire :-)

Well, that's the ONLY thing that keeps me going........... Wink

Sort this problem now and sort out the speed issues...I have had enough of you making me run round the bush........ABSOLUTE DISGRACE of speeds tonight.. I may as well get 2 baked bean tins and some string..it would be faster...

CS performed "some maintenance" on my account last night, told me it would "fix the issues" of my poor speeds, and promptly closed the ticket. Guess what? IT DID ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!

I am now browsing other ISPs and will request my MAC code from PlusNet. I've had enough of their lies and gutter-level service... and would suggest every other single unhappy customer do the same.

Maybe silly, but did you reset your router after the CS said they'd fixed the fault?

(FWIW, My PN Maxdsl speed setting increased last night on the 'Connection Settings' but to get the higher speed I just had to reset the router - I guess this reconnects at the PN end and picks up the new profile speed setting.)

I'm using a Speedtouch 300 USB modem so it's technically reset everytime I boot the computer in the morning. It's got the latest drivers which support 8MB speeds, so PlusNet are basically not providing the service which I'm paying for. As usual.

Add to this the constant disconnections, and the poor email service, and I've had my fill of their constant deluge of lies and below-par service so it's MAC time and another lost customer for them. Maybe one day soon they'll realise that people are leaving them for the same reason...
