Ticket 21413413

Can someone please read my question and give me a yes or no answer please.

I am not registering a fault my speeds have increased of late.

Your support people do appear to have a problem reading questions this is not the first time for me.

The Question is:

The BT speed checker results below indicate that my profile is 7000 kbps whereas plus net have it down as 3000 kbps Does this need to be changed please?

"Test 1 comprises of Best Effort Test: -provides background information.
IP profile for your line is - 7000 kbps
DSL connection rate: 448 kbps(UP-STREAM) 8096 kbps(DOWN-STREAM)
Actual IP throughput achieved during the test was - 2478 kbps"

Hi Cotty,

There's a little bit more to this one than I'd first noticed. According to the other reporting system that we have in place, the bRAS as assigned by BT is still on the same ~3000kbps margin as it was on our system.

Clearly, on your BT Speedtest, you can see an IP Profile of 7000kbps. I appreciate that this wasn't communicated effectively by our staff, and it created the impression that they were ignoring what you had said, which wasn't the case.

I would be interested, however, to see what sort of speeds you get once you have rebooted your hardware now that I've amended the profiling at our end. Technically, this shouldn't be over 3500kbps, but I would be curious to see the results.

Yep, makes perfect sense.

We'll continue raising this as a fault with BT to try and get them to make the necessary changes, but I hope now that you have a better understanding as to what's been going on with your ticket!

Just to let you know, I've passed your fault back to BT, given them a call and put a new ticket on your account.

Please don't close this one Smiley
