Ticket 20548064: Plusnet Help Please

Plusnet (Dave Tomlinson)

Please can you take a look at this ticket and supply the results of the Woosh test please before I have to call BT out.

I dont buy that I'm limited to a 288 IP Profile. I was connecting a 2mb no problem and even BT say I should have a 3.5mb on dslMAX

I'm syncing around 480kbps and am 2.4km from my exchange, plugged into test port, quiet line test seemed OK, SNR Margin of 16db

Someone help... Sad

Ticket 20548064: Plusnet Help Please

The change is here is unreal, used to be such a friendly helpful place and now, its like barron wasteland

Plusnet, what have you done...
N/A

Same

Hi,

I have an open case with Plus atm. I am having the same issue as you. I have a 8Mb/s profile and was getting fine speeds, but recently this has dropped massively.

I was asked to test a few things (basically jump through a set of hoops), which I have done and now await there reply. The replies are very slow coming though, and now I have proven it is at their doorstep.

Once I get a reply I will post back in this thread.

Cheers

No I guess they are not at work, I get really intermittent replies.

Anyway I have posted again in the ticket stating this is not single instance cases, but a wider issue and thier issue to boot.

Here are some examples of the speeds I have got:

Its up and down like a 'whore's drawers'

Ticket 20548064: Plusnet Help Please

Have you ran a BT speedtest?

What modem stats do you have?

Also, have you connected your modem to the test port?

Have you ran a "quiet line test"

Sorry for all the questions....

Ticket 20548064: Plusnet Help Please

Yeah done both.

Result shown 242Kb/s

Test 3 @ 18:45 on 20/10/06
Result shown 483Kb/s

Test 4 @ 18:50 on 23/10/06 (OMG primetime!)

Result shown 3940Kb/s or 3.85Mb/s

The router shows this:
Line Rate - Upstream (Kbps): 448

They are fully aware of this and once they get around to responding to the ticket I will post the mixed bag of replies I am sure to get.

Cheers

Can you look for something that says SNR Margin in the stats of your modem

What else do you have in the house?

Have you checked your exchanges VP status?
N/A

Ticket 20548064: Plusnet Help Please

I am not at home right now.

But I have no reason to doubt the signal to noise ratio. Nothing has changed

These checks were all performed with no other system in the loop.

I have not checked the exchange status either. I suppose I could...

Also, I set a couple of test in progress before heading to work this morning, maybe the fairys fixed it over night? Mind you that means the Cobbler has some work to do now...

A couple of extra tests this morning before setting off for work;

24-10-2006 07:22:21 5912
24-10-2006 07:22:00 2195.7
24-10-2006 07:21:41 6004.4

Still flexing up and down, but looking more promising.
