Terrible Support

I'm currently setting up a broadband connection for two of my relatives.

The account is Broadband Plus Up To 8Mb.

The line is synchronising at about 8Mb. However, speed tests complete at 1.8Mbps, and HTTP and Usenet downloads never exceed 20Kbytes/sec.

After being unable to contact PlusNet over the phone (the menus always ended up with me being asked to leave a message - no human contact), I raised ticket 19763874. This has been in the system for 48 hours and there has been no response. This just is not good enough.

While I'm here, I'd also like to mentioned that I joined the queue for MaxDSL at the beginning of May - I'm still connecting at 2Meg. Again, not good enough.

Terrible Support

The BT speedtest gives a 3Mbps result when connected with speedtest@speedtest_domain, and 2Mbps when conncted via PlusNet.

Does anybody know/have any ideas why the speed test results are so much higher than actual download speeds?
