If you are using usenet then the speed may be because you have exceeded 15gb. Its currently being reduced to 2-3KB\s after that. There are a number of threads on this page if you look around.

I don't seem to have had any speed problems at all with plusnet, only problems are disconnections

my speed test this now is:

Downstream 1815 Kbps (226.9 KB/sec) 1960 Kbps (inc. overheads)
Upstream 247 Kbps (30.9 KB/sec) 266 Kbps (inc. overheads)

Your speed test will not show traffic being allowed through usenet. It is usenet that is being throttled again, and this is my usage this month for peak time....

Peak-time usage so far this month:
10.4GB

So I am still well inside my limit....
any ideas HuhHuhHuhHuh?Huh

Usenet is restricted to 15gb (doesn't matter if it is peak or off peak) in a calender month before it is moved to the slowest queue. If you have gone over 15gb in total (on usenet), then that is why you are seing slow speeds. Aslo, speeds can be poor on Sunday evenings. I am finding just browsing quite slow tonight.

Now that is some very bad news isn't it, so what you are saying (well I mean plusnet) is that now we are only allowed to download a total of 15GB a month from usenetHuhHuhHuhHuhHuhHuhHuhHuhHuhHuhHuhHuhHuhHuhHuhHuh?

I recieved a nice email the other day stating something totally different, maybe something is wrong with the serversHuhHuhHuhHuhHuhHuhHuhHuhHuhHuh?Huh

I propose a new "phrase" for all this capping lark that contains the following

"#YOU'VE BEEN PLUS NETTED#"

    P2P speed Cap
    P2P D/L Limit 30Gig Peak 100ish off peak
    Usenet speed Cap
    Usenet D/L Limit 15Gig
Why can I not get a 2mb line
Got the response run a BT speed test
