Strange speed issue

Hi All

Since Monday my Speedtest results have ranged from 585 to 951k. The last one tonight was 851k.
I'm on 2 Meg Premier. My usage this month is <2 Gig.
I changed my router login to do the BT speedtest (just in case I had an exchange fault), and got a result of 1850k.
I then logged back onto Plusnet, did a speedtest and got 1870k.

Does anyone have any idea why my speed has gone back up to what I'd expect to see after using the BT checker.

Thanks
Ian

You've connected to a different gateway?

Nope.

Checked before and after the change.
All 4 speedtests via PN have been on 3 diggerent gateways.

Hope something like this doesn't hurt my MaxDSL upgrade. My billing date is 21st April. My Attenuation is steady at 24 and SNR (Margin) wriggles about between 18 and 24Db. Both figures taken from my router.
Hoping to see between 6 and 8 MegHuh?

Which gateway has given you this new faster speed?

I was getting exceptionally good speeds much of today (for a Plusnet connection) for P2P on PTN-AG1,
(until maybe 30 minutes ago when it all suddenly slowed to a crawl)

Ray.

This gateway is thn-ag1.

Been on this one before though with a slow speedtest.
I don't leave the router on all day, so it usually picks up a different gateway each time.

Just wondered why the BT speedtest then reconnect to PN brought my speed back to what I'd normally see.

Ian.

No bright ideas, sorry, but I've got myself on that same gateway just to see how it treats me.
