Statit to Dynamic IP Address

Try here;
https://portal.plus.net/my.html?action=control_your_broadband

What product are you on? That link may only work on BBYW.

Statit to Dynamic IP Address

Usually people want the other way around. Any reason for this?

Statit to Dynamic IP Address

Some users worry that a static IP address means that you can be tracked on visits to websites, without the ability to do anything to change this, as you can with cookies.

Other users may find themselves being subject to DDOS attacks and have no choice but to change IP- this really should be done with collaboration with PlusNet though as this IP address will need to be removed from the available pool.

Or have been banned from somewhere Smiley

But seriously - I guess the another reason is some understandably don't like the RDNS of a static IP revealing their username. This can be turned off on request.

Not sure if this is the case with BBYW though.

On BBYW, rDNS can be changed for a static IP but it can't actually be turned off. There's no automated process for this so a ticket has to be raised.
