Plusnet's stable rate page and BT's speedtest page are giving the results below. It is now 2 weeks since I was 'maxed'.

Should I be raising a ticket about the discrepancy in downstream speeds or are these normal (!) results....

--------------------------------------------------

Your High-speed Broadband Service

Your current broadband speed is 3000 Kbps

--------------------------------------------------

Test1 comprises of Best Effort Test:
IP profile for your line is - 3000 kbps
DSL connection rate: 448 kbps(UP-STREAM) 4352 kbps(DOWN-STREAM)
Actual IP throughput achieved during the test was - 2791 kbps

If you wish to discuss these results please contact your ISP.

If you are experiencing problems with specific applications, servers or websites please contact your ISP for assistance.

Your test has completed please close this window to exit the performance tester.

when were you upgraded to maxDSL?

When did you get that downstream sync, it can take a few days for the BRAS and then plusnet to update your IP Profile...

count yourself as a lucky one Cheesy

some get stuck with under 1mb

i am currently synching at 2.0mb

there are ways to improve your SNR, thus leading to a higher synch

go to your master socket, and plug your router directly into the test socket, you get the best synch speeds from there

I know, I know Smiley Just trying to get max (no pun intended...) value for money. This is all the more interesting because 12 months ago BT repeatedly told me that I couldn't even receive BB because I was on a TPON line. Much too-ing and fro-ing finally got me 512k and I later managed an upgrade to 1mb. To now be getting the speeds quoted is great, but I might as well push for more if it's available... Cheesy

I would recommend monitoring it over the next 3 days, if the connection is stable then the BRAS will update.

If the BRAS do not update then submit a support ticket, if your IP Profile on the BT Speedtest changes then a few days later, the plusnet profile does not then submit a ticket

No quick fix here, you are in the hands of BTs systems...

You may want to keep your modem/router plugged in 24/7 and only reboot once a day
