Stable Rate Stuck. PlusNet Please nudge it

My Stable rate is stuck at 1000kbs. Syncing at 1824kbs and have been for 9 days ( http://ccgi.pacem.plus.com/router.php?days=7&day=4&month=3 )

There doesn't seem to be an easy way to raise this regularly occuring problem in the ticketing system.

...so if anyone knows an easy way of raising a ticket or someone in the comms team happens to be reading. I'd be very grateful.

Hi,

What does the BT Speedtest say?

http://www.plus.net/support/broadband/troubleshooting/bt_speed_tester.shtml

In particular you're looking for the IP profile.

Hiya,

Now changed back to reflect the BT data. A quick reboot should sort it out for you. Smiley

Unfortunately this does happen with the BT tester, perseverance is needed to get results sometimes.

@snipperuk

This updated about 15 minutes ago for you to 1500, you should be back to the speeds you were seeing before.

Stable Rate Stuck. PlusNet Please nudge it

Well after a couple of router reboots etc, I go to do the speed test tonight only to find my stable rate has automagically increased to 1500, so I don't need to do the speed test (Yay!)

As for the software. It's a simple crontab bash script that I wrote to collect the data every minute, and once hourly upload it to the cgi space:
#!/bin/bash

SNRFILE=adsl_advance.html?ImPorts.a1
SPEEDFILE=adsl.html?ImPorts.a1
OUTPUT=output-`date +%j`
THISDIR=/home/paul/router
cd $THISDIR
test -e pause && exit 0
test -f $SNRFILE && rm $SNRFILE
test -f $SPEEDFILE && rm $SPEEDFILE
wget -q http://admin:password@router/configuration/$SNRFILE
wget -q http://admin:password@router/configuration/$SPEEDFILE
test -f $SNRFILE || exit;
test -f $SPEEDFILE || exit;
## grep ">0 day 0 hr 0 min" $SPEEDFILE > /dev/null && echo 0, 0, 0, 0, `grep '0</td' $SPEEDFILE | sed -r s/\<.?td\>//g | sed -r s/0$/0,/g` `date +%T` >> $OUTPUT

echo `grep dB $SNRFILE | sed -r s/\<.?td\>//g | sed -r s/\ dB\ */,/g` `grep '0</td' $SPEEDFILE | sed -r s/\<.?td\>//g | sed -r s/0$/0,/g` `date +%T` >> $OUTPUT

date | grep ":59:" && scp -C $OUTPUT pacem@ccgi.plus.net:

exit 0

For the scp to work you need to have configured your public private key.
This will only work for my Billion 7400 router at the moment but I'm sure tweeking the greps and the URL of wget would allow it to work with most routers.
It's output is just a simple list e.g http://ccgi.pacem.plus.com/output-023

The php side on the cgi server then plots the graphs as required. I'm not a php programmer and it's pretty ugly code but it does the job; each image is less than 8KB. It was also my first go at doing SVG.

I may have another go at showing the php code but exporting it to phps doesn't seem to render without extra headers so I'll need to tamper with things to make it readable. It's too big to paste here. (Post if you're interested least I forget.)

EDIT:
The main control page code can be found here: http://ccgi.pacem.plus.com/router.html
and the code to draw the graphs is: http://ccgi.pacem.plus.com/svg2.html
(Not that this was strictly asked for, but we're all entitled to a little vanity...)
