if the new 67k speed limit only applies to p2p, etc and not normal surfing & email, why am i getting uploads speeds comparable to a 56k modem
I did some speed test on ADSLguide. http://www.adslguide.org.uk/

Downstream 1894 Kbps (236.8 KB/sec) 2045 Kbps (inc. overheads)
Upstream 58 Kbps (7.3 KB/sec) 62 Kbps (inc. overheads)

have a look for yourself

I naturally filled in the "Rate Your ISP" section after the test with great enthusiasm.
What the hell is going on with plusnet?

I dont know what your all complaining about. I've been with plusnet for years and so far the service has been 100% excellent.

My stats are as follows:

Downstream 1576 Kbps (197.0 KB/sec) 1702 Kbps (inc. overheads)
Upstream 246 Kbps (30.8 KB/sec) 265 Kbps (inc. overheads)

I have also been with plus net nearly 4 years and now the service is no where near as good as it used to be - where do you live plusnet towers?

This service is now becomming a joke, I am only getting 11K from usenet, speed checker gives me the full speed so they are throttling usenet. For christ sake PN sort this crap out Evil

Yes but take into consideration of time of day, what else is being run on my line and you might get the full picture.

These tests are exaccly what they are, a test and cannot be used as a 100% accerate tool to bandwidth speeds.

My exchange cable run is 367 meters and as I said, never had any problems with PN or there service, regardless of what type of usage im using.

Urrghhh, my upload is going like a slug http://www.adslguide.org.uk/tools/speedchart.asp?id=e8eb31ed1066e0d8a6e3d2dfcc3

I even phoned CS last night, but they said there is nothing they can do about it, that its BT's fault. Perhaps it is BT's fault, how would I know, but crap net should do something about it....shoddy workmanship there Evil

My exchange is showing GREEN with no reported problems.
I have contacted support by ticket and await a reply - telephone waiting time is 25 minutes.
These are the results of the PN Speedtest since last night - note the big difference at 7am this morning

I have done the BT test at 1.06pm and it shows
The speed test has completed on test server speedtester1.nat.bt.com for user 016705****1 and you have downloaded a 1.7Mb file at a speed of

1258 kilo bits per second (Kbps), your service bandwidth will have been quoted to you in kilo bits per second.

So who's fault is it?? Where are the answers? PN will blame BT - BT will blame PN and it goes on.
I think I should get better than this on 2mb Premier

And before anyone asks no other programs/downloading were running.
