Speed problems

Internet has gone slow all of a sudden. Speed tests on various sites:

510 Kbps

62.5 K bytes/sec

and

230.6 Kbps or 28.3 K bytes/sec

was getting between 2meg and 3meg yesterday. Ive just had my equipment and cabling changed this last week so i seriously doubt that is faulty.

problem with plus nets end?

just done 2 plus net speed tests, heres the last 4 logged :

22-07-2006 18:49:14 349.7
22-07-2006 18:48:38 364.2
13-07-2006 17:59:52 3022.9
13-07-2006 01:44:14 2608.4

i just rebooted router and its no better!!

22-07-2006 18:52:51 321.4

Speed problems

Have you had thunderstorms recently in your area?

MaxDSL really really really does not like them and will repeatedly disconnect. Each disconnect will reduce your Max Stable Rate (MSR) which may explain your download speeds. In that case, it may take three days to improve (according to BT's spec and various posts) Perhaps another reason to disconnect your modem during a thunderstorm Cheesy

If not, it could be a fault and you should raise it with PN. It could be exchange contention, line fault on BT's side.. etc. It may even be something to do with your new cabling, try testing it on the master socket.

My guess is the thunderstorms have knocked your Max Stable Rate down.

plugged it directly into the main socket and still the same.

do these look ok?

channel bit rate : down 6784 up 448
relative capactiy occ(%) : down 99 up 65
noise margin(db) : down 6.5 up 17
Output power (dBm) : down 19.5 up 0
Attenuation(db) : down 41.5 up 26

ill raise it as a fault
