Speed Complaints

Bring it on! I can change profiles now Smiley

Can those with a speed issue, believed to be related to incorrect profiling, please post ONCE in here and I'll work through them individually.

Edit: This relates only to MaxDSL (cheers SW)

Hello

Mine is 1500.......bi-passing PN and booting modem to BT domain it says:-

The speed test has completed on test server speedtester1.nat.bt.com for user XXXXXX and you have downloaded a 1.7Mb file at a speed of 5051 kilo bits per second (Kbps), your service bandwidth will have been quoted to you in kilo bits per second.

Not bi-passing PN and normal speedtest says:-

Test1 comprises of Best Effort Test: -provides background information.
IP profile for your line is - 6000 kbps
DSL connection rate: 448 kbps(UP-STREAM) 7136 kbps(DOWN-STREAM)
Actual IP throughput achieved during the test was - 1290 kbps

Hi Tracer,

Yours is now set to 8000kbps. You should be able to see faster speeds once you have rebooted.

Hi there,

I've reset your profiling at our end to 6000kbps as per your results on the BT Speedtest.

Again, reboot needed.

Ooh, you've opened a can of worms here - you're going to be inundated with speed complaints.

If only you could do LLU too, although I'm trying to get back to BT as Tiscali have only made my problems worse trying to fix my line.

Hi there,

Just to clarify things. Here I am merely amending profiles at our end to match the data that BT are sending us. This does not refer in any way to P2P speed issues. This is just about line speed profiling.

James,

Can I suggest you post links to look at to check if your profile is wrong.

Thanks John.

We're looking for discrepancies between these two links:

My speeds are down from what they once were; I'm on PAYG if that counts.

Thank you. Smiley
