Nice page, but always a good idea to run it through a spellchecker before making a page live.

Hi,

Are you seeing the same speeds on the BT Speedtester?

Hi no have not used bt speed test, but the last time i tried to log on to bt speed test, it would not work. I read you help page on this and it still did not work.

I will try another website for speed test and see what that says

I have found the bt speed test page & this is what it says

The speed test has completed on test server speedtester1.nat.bt.com for user 01********* and you have downloaded a 1.7Mb file at a speed of

1893 kilo bits per second (Kbps), your service bandwidth will have been quoted to you in kilo bits per second.

Your IP address is 84.93.155.222, your browser is reported as being Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 and is running on Windows **.

BT would regard the speed ranges shown below as normal service:

For 250kbps End Users speeds between 50 - 250kbps.
For 500kbps End Users speeds between 100 - 500kbps.
For 1000kbps End Users speeds between 200 - 1000kbps.
For 2000kbps End Users speeds between 400 - 2000kbps.

I have just blocked out my phone number & os.
This is showing better speeds than your own speed test.

The difference with the BT speedtest is that it measures the speed between you and BT and doesn't touch our network. So if you are seeing slow speeds on the BT speedtester then you can rule your ISP out of the equation as to the cause as the fault must be down to either your equipment or within BT's control. Vice versa, normal speeds on the BT speedtest would suggest the problem is more likely on our side of the network.

well my equipment is working with no problem.

It must of been a blip on your network, as you can see from my last post, the speed is ok now.

Was anything else running at the time you did the poor speedtests? windows updates, downloads etc etc. Not trying to teach you to suck eggs, but I've done that myself before.

p.s. not sure your website would stand up legally! but your choice
