Slow connection

I thought my connection was running slow so just ran the F9 speed checker - My account type is Premier 2MB.

Here are the results:
Your current speed is:
841.10kbps
Which means you can download at 105.14 KB/sec. from our servers.

Can anyone tell me what I can do about this please?

Slow connection

Hi,

This could be down to several things. Though I'd suggest running through the BT speed checker in order to see if its an issue with your line or not.

Ok thanks - now done that.
Here are results of BT speed checker:

The speed test has completed on test server speedtester2.nat.bt.com for user *********** and you have downloaded a 1.7Mb file at a speed of

1032 kilo bits per second (Kbps), your service bandwidth will have been quoted to you in kilo bits per second.

Your IP address is 217.47.67.155, your browser is reported as being Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 and is running on Windows XP.

BT would regard the speed ranges shown below as normal service:

For 250kbps End Users speeds between 50 - 250kbps.
For 500kbps End Users speeds between 100 - 500kbps.
For 1000kbps End Users speeds between 200 - 1000kbps.
For 2000kbps End Users speeds between 400 - 2000kbps.

Now what should I do please - report a fault?

Slow connection

Unfortunately, with the speeds coming back at that level, it isn't possible to raise a fault to BT. Its most probably down to exchange contention and as such its a case of waiting for BT to resolve the problem.
