Show The Hold Music In Service Status

If you refuse to change the hold music why not show what is currently playing in service status? Then people will ring up when it is music they prefer (not like, prefer), different people have different tastes so you will have a more even flow of calls.

Unfortunatly, not likely to happen.

The music is played over a cheap £5 personal CD player, into the telephone system. Unlikely going to get much information from which a player.

No but whoever puts the CD in could change it manually. So they put Waterloo in they change service status to:

ABBA: Waterloo

I knew the system was bad (weekend papers) but didn't realise it was that bad. Maybe we could all save up for a new CD player for PN and donate some CD's Tongue

I cant see that being high on the list of priorities tbh.

I'm not that bothered what they play nor would I expect a busy ISP to devote time to this when there are many more pressing matters to attend to.

Indeed. Maybe someone could do it for them. Tongue

o.k. it's a very tounge in cheek idea, but in my opinion a good one.

Bear in mind, the music must be royalty free. Hence the use of weekend papers.

How about we set an IVR system up, press 1 to listen to Abba, press 2 to listen to Kylie?

What about Elvis? I belive some of his tracks (if not all are now out of copyright, hence no need to pay royalties.

nothing wrong with les miserables was merely saying that ppl are miserable cueing so option 3 would refer to everyone...

Whilst the options are being read to you, would there be some music in the background?
Could we choose that too?

Tell you what does wind me up no end though - you phone your ISP, and they tell you to check the website for help - great, thats where most folks got the number from, the rest can't get on the web, hence the call to CS Grrrr

(OK I know its exaggerated, but you must have had a similar thought...)
