Following extensive discussions with Telewest we have isolated the cause of the current outage to our Fax to Email service. A backup Telewest database has been routing the numbers incorrectly following our planned relocation of the server this morning.
Telewest engineers are currently reconfiguring the routing of our customers' Fax to Email numbers manually, and unfortunately they have informed us that this process may take up to 12 hours to complete for all of the numbers. Therefore customers we expect individual customers to see their service restored at some point in the next 12 hours.
We would like to sincerely apologise for this interruption in the service which is due to factors beyond our direct control. We appreciate your patience and cooperation at this time.
Murphy's law ..... I finally decided to use the really useful fax 2 email function, which for the past 2 years was a facility I had no use for - but someone is now actually trying to send me a fax - today of all days :-(
