Remote Desktop and the new PAYG Products

I moved from the old 9.99 PAYG product to the new 9.99 one on the assurance of support that nothing would change. Well, I can no longer VPN into work from home and I can no longer use windows Remote Desktop.

I depend on these to support a couple of websites. Is their any way I can get back on them without moving package or supplier?

Broadband Your Way Option 1? It should be clear in the sign up journal that VPN is NOT supported?

Just checked your ticket history. You want me to get you moved back?

I thought a ticket asking if my service would be affected and receiving an answer of No would be enough. I also didn't realise that Remote Desktop uses VPN?

Ok, it may take about 10-20 minutes for your profile to sort it's self out. Restart/reconnect your adsl in about 30mins and you should be able to VPN again.

Have to say - that is good service.

Half an hour, door to door.

Yep, working now. Many thanks.

Can I just confirm which package I'm on now and what my options on the new one are?

We've put you back on to the product you were on before. I'm not 100% sure you have identical settings though, so it may be worth raising a ticket to get it checked.

Was the second question about which BBYW package to get?

Hi there,

VPN is available on all products except Option 1, so you could safely choose any of the others.

RealVNC on Option 1

Just checking...

VNC will work on Option 1, right? I moved my Mum to Option 1 at £9.99 and she needs (very occasional) help via RealVNC (not bad for an 80 year old!).

Thanks for confirming.
