I don't remember changing any settings, but after I reinstalled Thunderbird, I noticed that it only downloaded 1 email and my emails had disappeared from web mail. A couple of tests emails disappeared as soon as I'd read them via Thunderbird. Seems that Thunderbird had been set up to delete emails from the server once they'd been read. Thus all my emails have gone.
I raised a ticket, but was told without explaination that emails can't be recovered once downloaded.
Does the setting on an email client actually delete the mail irretrievably from the server? Or is it just a lot of work, therefore not practically possible? Or is it perfectly possible, straightforward but just a bit of extra work that Plusnet would rather not do? I ask because I don't want to waste anyone's time raising further tickets unless it's the latter.
I'm also using recovermyfiles to try to find any emails deleted but still on by hard drive, but not having much luck at the moment.
Thanks in advance for any advice you may be able to offer.
