Problems with DNS 212.159.13.49 ?

Due to the lameness of my router I only have one DNS server configured (212.159.13.49). I've had a number of addresses fail to resolve today - but they work fine when I resend the request. Just wondering if this would indicate a simmering fault on the DNS?

Cheers,

Simon

Problems with DNS 212.159.13.49 ?

All 4 DNS servers are running 100% for me (each line does a 200 lookup test)

You may need to look closer to home...

Is your system using your router for DNS lookups - i.e. is windows set to use your routers IP for DNS queries. If so manually set windows to use any of the above and see if it improves.

Problems with DNS 212.159.13.49 ?

Thanks for that.

Is it OK to use the PN DNS addresses when I am connecting through a non-PN connection? I ask because I use wireless connections for my laptop and pda. I have my router at home set up as a DHCP server so that I can connect at home or on other wireless networks without the need to change any settings.

Problems with DNS 212.159.13.49 ?

Yes, it will just be slower than using the corresponding DNS servers for the ISP you are currently connected to.
