I am also getting really slow speeds on premier. I have raised a ticket, which has come back inconclusive. My speeds are below 500k on all speed test I have tried including bt speed test. What is going on? I am on a fixed 2 meg connection.

That is not the kind of service I would expect to receive from Premier (and shouldn't be the case).

Have you rebooted your modem or router to see if this resolves the problem? Do you have an intermittent connection? Does it get worse at peak times?

Unless you've hit the management levels then you should be able to get upto line speed on a speed test, especially in the morning.

I am no where near my management levels, the speed was worse last night I was only getting 244 then. I have rebooted all my equipment, router and PC. I do not have an intermittent connection, just really slow speeds. I raised a ticket last night this is the number 21327974

Hi peepsw,

I have flagged your ticket with one of our faults team.

There should be an update on your ticket within the next 30 minutes or so.

I also seam to be throttled at present;

Down stream sync 4256 kbps
PlusNet MSR profile 4000 Kbps
Service received 3000 kbps max

Since Friday last week I have not exceeded 3000 kbps, on what should be a 4M connection.

Account type; Premier option 1

Chilly,

Have you run the performance tester to see what your BT IP Profile is?

Are you on Tiscali? Could just be that your exchange is busier? Premier customers should be getting a better experience now than they were a month ago - as far as our own network is concerned.

Thank you for that I have just done a speed test at speedtest.net here are the results.

This is the first time I have experienced less than maximum profile speed - therefore the above does not apply. Not only that it is in OFF PEAK!

Ordinarily my only speed drops after a synch blip. This is not the case. IP profile and PN Profile 2500. Could be a concern given the way capacity seems to becoming more of an issue. Will keep an eye on this and come back if it persists

Also just into second day of Billing Month - and less than 100Mb usage

Wld appreciate some PN suggestions as to what is happening?

Slightly OT, but what do you use to compile these stats?

@liam
My connection is BT Wholesale
I have not yet checked my profile BT IP, but I will give that a try.
I would guess its not exchange/PlusNet contention, as I would show higher speeds over night.

It needs some invertergation, but I have been up to my neck in vmware and rdesktop.

A sync rate of 4256kbps would indicate a throughput rate of 3500kbps, from:

http://www.plus.net/support/broadband/network/dslmax_guide.shtml

Be interested to see if the BT IP Profile agrees.

Everything looks fine our side and no MSOs showing for your exchange. Could be a number of different things, I'd suggest rebooting your PC and router/modem and see if that makes any difference.
