Post Max speed is slower after several weeks

Hi,

I was on the fixed 2mbps service, which was stable.

I've Maxed, and the synch rate now varies on reconnection between 1600 and 3000.

My stable rate was fleetingly 2000, but is usually 1500 and is now 1000. So I'm slower now than I was before.

I wasn't expecting a huge uplift, but slower?

My stats are:

Downstream Upstream
SNR Margin 15.2 19.0 dB
Line Attenuation 48.1 30.5

If this is going to continue, can I go back to being un-Maxed?

Hi there,

Your bRAS profile is likely to continue altering dependent on the conditions of your line at any given time.

The best way to minimise this would be to remove any uneccessary devices from your phone line, avoid the use of any extension cabling and if possible try connecting your ADSL equipment to the master socket. You should also double check all filtering. This way you should be able to push the most out of your line.

Your line attenuation is outside of limits for a 2Mbps connection so although you had the service previously there is a slim chance that an attempt to reprovision you on the fixed rate product might get rejected by BT.
