Hmmm, seems to be working fine for me in Firefox. In fact when I've used it in the past it's been with Firefox too.

Does clearing your cache help?

Is it just using mybroadbandspeed it does this ?

Have you tried any other speed tests to see if the problem can be replicated elsewhere

Does this speedtest work for you in Firefox? I ask because it's by Ookla, the same as the PlusNet speedtester.

I originally had problems because of our use of NoScript, but PlusNet kindly fixed it Javascript wasn't required for the test to run.

I have been using mybroadbandspeed.co.uk on Firefox since launch without any problems.

Strangeness- are you running a rules based software firewall at all?

Very strange.

The BBMAX checker is also using the same software as ours.

Seems to work in both IE and Firefox for me without a problem. I wonder if there is a Firefox extension which might help pinpoint the problem... Hmmm..

Liam,

That result from speedtest.net is from December apparently so it did work once upon a time but not any more in Firefox.

12/16/2006 4:22 PM GMT 1917 kb/s 245 kb/s 67 ms Maidenhead ~ 150 mi

Same result on BBMAX.No download speed around 150 upload. It's rubbish because I'm getting around 1900 on a lot of other tests and regularly download around the 240Kbps mark so I'm not worried about speed particularly. My real problem is packet loss but I'm puzzled by this.

Jagger,

Could you possibly let us know which Firefox extensions / plugins you are using?

@ peterstones,

Running ZoneAlarm pro for several years without problems. Now got a router online but nothing firewalled in there as far as I know.If it was one of them then surely IE7 wouldn't work either? (he guessed)
