Plusnet speed test!!!

Hi, Can anyone tell me if they are having problems with the speed test on here its giving me readings higher then my 2meg connection but when I go else where it tells me I am on 2 meg connection here is some of the speeds it is giving me

53.3 kbps 56k Dial Up
64 kbps ISDN 1 Channel
128 kbps ISDN Dual Channel
460 kbps ADSL 500
920 kbps ADSL 1000
1840 kbps ADSL 2000
315076.9 kbps YOU

it keeps giving me similiar readings I know I have not been maxed as I rebooted my router and it still gives me the same readings for 2meg. So is the speed tester up the spout?

Thanks in advanced

Plusnet speed test!!!

Are you complaining? Smiley

I haven't heard of any problems being reported, but if more people are suffering the same problems, I'll get a problem raised.

No I am not complaining but when I use the adsl guide website it shows Speed Test Results

Downstream 1,835.2 Kbps ( = 1.8 Mbps )
Upstream 205.7 Kbps ( = 0.2 Mbps )

So either theres is wrong or plus net is wrong. but if plus net is right its a bonus.

Plusnet speed test!!!

There have been reports of this happening for as long as I have been a member, it always happens when the tester picks a stupidly small packet size to test with (ie 2kb).

PlusNet's Speed Test says:

The speed test is not compatible with many popup blockers. If you are using programs such as Norton Internet Security or Norton Personal Firewall, disable them whist running the speed test.

In the past when I'd forgotten this I've had results such as the 315076.9 kbps littlesue got.

Why not try http://www.rasp.org.uk/myspeed/index.html which gives very reliable results.
