I have had a couple of emails from Plus Net telling me light restrictions will apply to my broadband after exceeding 4GB of use. I have now received another now I have exceeded 5GB. My questions are these:
My billing is due today so will these restrictions be lifted as of today even though I received my 5GB warning last night?
Also, how am I suddenly using so much peak time traffic? I do use bit torrent however these are scheduled between midnight and 4pm (off peak time) and the PC is rarely on in the evening, only for a little email checking and I do mean a little.
The only thing I can think that has changed is I got a Nintendo Wii before Christmas and this will use WiFi and the Internet, even when in Standyby. Could this have a bearing on things?
Firstly, yes, usage restrictions should be lifted upon payment of the invoice.
Regarding the usage, I'd just run a security sweep on your machines and keep an eye on your broadband usage checker. Maybe try leaving the Wii completely switched off for a day and see if you notice a considerable downturn in usage for the day?
