PAYG evening speed 55kbps

I complained yesterday of dire speeds on PAYG. This morning it was back to 4.5mbps.

It's now 8pm and my speed is 55kbps.

This is as bad as BB+. I was led to believe that PAYG wouldn't suffer the same. This is clearly BS.

So if you're thinking of changing to PAYG from BB+ don't. You might as well just leave PN and save yourself the trouble.

That is not the experience that most people are reporting which leads me to believe that there is some other factor - probably exchange contention. Have you checked the status of the exchange.

What test are you running to get the 55kbps speed?

I'm on LLU so there doesn't seem to be any way of checking exchange stats.

Ran speed test on http://speedcheck.ispconnect.co.uk/speedcheck/

as directed previously by customer support.

Are you saying that because other people aren't experiencing the same as me, it doesn't matter and it's tough poo?

I'll shut up and put up with it then should I?

PAYG evening speed 55kbps

Hi,

We have had a problem recently with speeds for some LLU customers, the last update was posted on Friday:

http://usertools.plus.net/status/archive/1171648935.htm

Whilst we believe the problem to be resolved it might be that you are still affected or there is a seperate issue. In either case I would recommend raising this as a fault via the fault checker on the left under Connection Settings so that the fault guys can look into it.

While I do get pretty good speeds on PAYG now that I'm off LLU, it still seems to fall apart every Sunday, with very variable speeds lasting most of the day and persisting till Monday morning. The rest of the week is usually fine. Not enough staff to stop the ellacoys savaging everything in sight?

Sorry Dave, unless there is another fault, I would disagree as per the last set of speed test results on my open ticket 21130627.

PAYG evening speed 55kbps

I'm on LLU PAYG and sync at around 5 meg. Here are some recent speed tests.

As you can see evening speeds can be pretty bad (though not as bad as some people have reported). It looked to be getting better on the evening of 16th Feb but then seems to go bad again yesterday in a big way - or maybe that's the regular Sunday slowdown Sad

I will do some more testing tonight and see what I get.

I'm also on LLU PAYG and sync at about 5M.
Off peak speeds are fine (3.5M) but daytime speeds have been variable all this month, generally varying between 50K and 1M.

PAYG evening speed 55kbps

Another evening and back to 55kbps.

I understand there were problems with LLU but these are supposedly fixed. Well not for me it isn't.

I'm fed up with starting tickets only to be fobbed off with another excuse. Come the evenings my speed issues come back again.

PAYG evening speed 55kbps

There really is no consistency to my issue. I raised a ticket earlier this evening because download speed was bad, yet now look -

Date Speed Achieved (kbps)
19-02-2007 22:05:27 3048.4
19-02-2007 22:04:57 3337.1
19-02-2007 22:04:31 3487.4

I don't know if something has been done as a result of the ticket or whether this is just the variable nature of the problem.

We'll wait and see
