No Email

Is there a problem with emails,have not been able to receive any emails today comes up with error (0x80004005).

Can any body help.

Hi,

Do you have Norton Antivirus? If so might be worth taking a look at:

If not can you post the whole error message? Also are you able to send email?

Thanks for the reply, nothing has changed on my machine sending and receiving email ok last night today will not send or receive am using Zone Alarm have done so for over a year with no problems.Do not seem to be able to copy the error messages am using Outlook.
Error message says timed out waiting for (smtp) server contact your ISP.

Even with Firewall and Antivirus still no joy sending or receiving.

Press the 'print screen' key or 'alt' + 'print screen' keys to capture all or part of screen. Gadwin is good for screen captures and is free!

http://www.xtra.co.nz/help/0,,5721-2452387,00.html may be of help if not used already?

Can you ping 'mail.plus.net' and 'relay.plus.net' also from DOS prompt (Start > Run > cmd)?

still no email
pings to mail.plus.net and relay.plus.net are ok.
can send and receive via Hotmail can now send via outlook but cannot receive, have tried Outlook Express and Webmail still no receive.!!!!!!!

What happens with webmail? I'm pretty certain the error message relates to a problem with Outlook or something on the PC that's interfering like antivirus or a firewall.
