Hello

My broadband has been activated, I've set up the Voyager 210 router correctly for ethernet connection. I can't access any websites. The internet light on the router is unlit and troubleshooting says the test with the ISP has failed.

Please can you tell me what's wrong.

Can you check that the following settings are good, you may have to check your intructions...

Data Circuit Information: VPI = 0 (Virtual Path Identifier) VCI = 38 (Virtual Channel Identifier)
Data Link Encapsulation: PPPoA
PPP Properties: VC Multiplexed

Has the router allocated your PC with an IP address?

Presume you are on Microsoft XP or Vista?

Go to the start button, click on run or in search, type cmd

Black box (command prompt), type ipconfig

You are looking for IPv4 Address.... Will be something like 192.168.x.x (x's will be numbers between 1 and 254)

Hope this help

Also worth running a BT speed test http://www.speedtester.bt.com

If Zonealarm was the problem, it sounds like it needs to be re-taught some rules.. usually if you go into the programs list and remove them all you can re-train it with little problem.. was version of Zonealarm was it? I had problems with ZA Suite a while ago blocking MSN and I couldn't sort it, so went back to Pro and never had a problem since.

Of course, since I moved to Vista, I've been stuck with Norton Internet Security 2007 which I don't rate that much

sorry to butt in, just adding my 2p worth.

Roger.
