New Plunet calls and broadband package FAO COMMS Staff

Hi

I will be moving into my new house early july-ish.
Is it possible to activate a plusnet land line from the start, or do i have to set up a new BT line then transfer the service? The house does not have a phone number at the moment.

You have to organise a new line via BT before arrangements can be made to ADSL activate it! If you're unlucky you might even find that there is no ADSL capacity available at the exchange when you want it as someone on these forums has found out!

HI

Surely if Plusnet are supplying the Landline as they say in their FAQS "no BT at all" then they would sort the new line out and activate the broadband and calls packages.

Will I still need to pay BT a line rental fee?
The price for your PlusNet package replaces your BT line rental. You won’t need to pay BT for anything if you take out the full package

At the moment, there isn't any more information that can be made available to you. What I would suggest you do is put your details down for more information, and then when it's available we'll let you know what's going on.

Though I'd imagine that once the service is up and running properly, there could be the potential to instal new lines, rather than having to get BT to do it and then move the line into ourselves.

I thought BT would be the line installers and maintainers anyway with PN paying a fee in order to rent out what are essentially BT lines!
