There is a notice in the Announcements section of the forums about the replacement for Colin (csogilvie) one of the Moderators who has now left to work for Plusnet.
The announcement can be found here

Seriously I think its a non-contest. I imagine jelv aka elvin will be selected. By far the most helpful customer on the forums Smiley

I dunno, there's a few others I think would be pretty good too.

It is up to the community though, so what I think is largely irrelevant.

Before anyone wastes any time, I have no wish to be a moderator.

Yeah, we can do without having to replace folks every time PN see a sparkle of talent.

Only apply if you are as unskilled as I am.

EDIT: There's no such thing as free lunches - somebody is paying for them - its probably me.

Why don't you buy your own lunch, and let PN buy us a shiny new central? BLAH BLAH BLAH, RANT, RANT, RANT.

Why not? Its certainly something that should be taken into account if someone did apply for a job at PN.

Working on these forums as a moderator will certainly give an insight into many of the issues that customers feel strongly about, and will also give an insight into how these are dealt with by the CS team.

If anyone did have ambitions to work for PN, then I would think being a moderator here would certainly provide some very useful background information.

As long as ay moderation was not undertaken with any kind of prejudice or prefference then its ok.

Plus if they do want to be a PN employee, then you can guarantee they will want to be around here as much as possible too.

Win win I think.

Did anybody watch Waking the Dead this week?

The Moderating Team are like the Fakirs - a secret society used as a front for recruiting folks for a secret cause.

Hmm free lunch? I'll work for Plus.net! Dammit I will. If only I could afford to move. Anything has to be better then working as an IT tech in a school like the job I applied for today

Mind you I've no will to become a moderator. Already Administer my own forums on my community - http://www.thetngc.org.uk

Also I do Admin 2 of Plus.nets game servers. So that might be my way in.. who wants to pay for my train ticket to Sheffield?

Well - got to be better than what is about in Old Street London (to those who know the city, I work right off the roundabout on the Northern Line).

Good for the Post Office and Argos though Smiley

Hmm, - I just got a virtual slap for taking yet another thread off topic today. Shockedops:

For my sake and the sanity of others, can we all (myself included) make an effort to get this back towards the more specific topic of replacing Colin.

Apologies for being a bad 'un. Wink

Well don't all rush at once. Sad

Come on you all must know someone who you think would do a good job as a forum moderator.
Why not PM them and ask if they are interested?
If they are then send a PM to any of the moderators nominating them. Cool
