Hi there,

I've raised this internally, and someone should be along shortly to come and have a look at the problems you have been experiencing.

Can't beat the 7Kbps but had a 155 in there a few days ago, Up to 8Mb, I'd like to get close to 4Mb, god I'd like to get the 2Mb I used to HAVE!!!!!!

So if there is any support out there how about sending some of it my way?

Thanks

My b_width speed test, read this if you want a good laugh

Hi,

Looking at your account one of my colleagues made some changes to your line profile a couple of days ago. Are you still seeing these speeds or have they improved at all?

If they are still the same can you also post your line stats?

This pages lists how to get the stats from most ADSL hardware:

Hi

My speeds are still very poor, just carried out a speed test and got 218kbps, and that was at ten to seven in the morning so hopefully not too much contention there. Your colleagues have suggested various options such as MTU settings, using the master BT socket etc, non of which have made any noticeable difference.

I have purchased the most up to date router I can that supports ADSL2 etc and it's wireless but also had the suggestion that I use DU Meter to check if anyone else is using the connection which is impossible as I have it locked down to the MAC address of my work laptop.

I mainly use a Mac which is connected via ethernet to the router at 100Mbps.

I'm pretty sure my phone cabling and filters are OK and my sync speed has dipped recently to the level shown below but has been up near 4000 Kbps.

My line stats are here, any thoughts?

ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 3112 kbps 545 kbps
Line Attenuation 62.5 db 31.3 db
Noise Margin 12.2 db 14.5 db

Cheers

Hi Phil,

Can you try running a couple more speed tests at your end for me and let me know what speeds you are getting?

This is the one I usually use:

Hi James

Tried the speed test you recommended and I'm getting an average of 300 Kbps from it with lows of 220 and a high of 442Kbps

Are my line stats OK and is there anything I can do to improvve them?

Cheers

I'm having the same issue and know of other F9 customers also experiencing poor download speeds. Wish I could just get my 2 meg speed back. Looks like Plusnet are going to loose lots of customers.

Awful

Been trying to get my email and struggling to get the page to load, I have just done a speed test will the following results:

Downstream 87.2 Kbps ( = 0.1 Mbps )
Upstream 61.1 Kbps ( = 0.1 Mbps )

I am on a 2mb connection, this is awful, my hardware is working fine so the problem lies elsewhere, wonder would force9 ever have any problems Huh

A message for James Bailey:

Hi James you replied to an earlier post regarding my poor speeds and asked me to do some more speed tests, I have posted the results and have not heard anything back from you regarding my question over line stats ?

My speeds are still averaging around 300 Kbps at all times of the day and night.

Can you let me know if there is anything that can be done please?

I am sorry but if nothing happens by the time I get back from holiday mid september I will be asking for a MAC code so I can move to a different supplier. I have been with F9 since 2002 and have always had a good stable connection on my old 2Mb link and good customer service but since this Max upgrade things have gone from bad to worse.

I appreciate that the problems may not all be down to your companys infrastructure and that there are a lot of problems for everyone at the moment but I cannot justify paying £30 a month for these speeds.

Also after messing with the MTU settings on my company laptop and my own router on the recommendations of your support staff my laptop will no longer connect to the router over wireless for longer than 2 minutes at a time and I am constantly rebooting it to get any kind of connection.

I lack the expertise to fix this and as I work from home using VPN to connect to my companies Notes server I cannot have these problems.

Thank you for your time

Phil

Wonderful Speed

Well i'm getting sick of how slow my bband is running now, it was fine up until my last billing date and then it just went to a crawl. The lines syncs between 2mb and 1.5mb depending on mood but I can only achieve 35kb/s max at a push if im lucky. Now i can see some other users are been affected even more but F9 seem to be doing nothing about it?!?! I reported the fault on the 31st July had one scripted reply and thats it, no further action!!!!

Well, someone has done something Huh?

Just got nearly 3Mbps download on the bbmax speedtester after rebooting my router!!!

I'm gobsmacked! After days and days of slow speeds it seems to have changed in the blink of an eye,

If it was F9 or Tiscali or BT or whoever, Thank you Cheesy

Looks like I'll be sticking around for a while longer

Cheers

Wish I could say the same, but I can't.
Peaking at 247kbps tonight and F9 don't seem to give a toss. They just seem pleased to tell me my problem has been 'escalated'. Well that's the third time I've been escalated in nearly six weeks, but no nearer getting the problem sorted.
