What is the limit on attchment sizes sent via email on plusnets servers?

Not sure about Plusnets servers, but the general accepted size accross the net is 10MB, if PN is more, then when it leave's their servers, it could get bounced from anyother that it touches

Don't forget that the encoding of email attachments means that the size of the email is always bigger than the size of the original files - about 15% if I remember correctly.

PlusNet have a 100MByte attachment size limit - that's the actual attachment, not the size of the original file - so that's about 85Megs.

However, not many mail servers will accept attachments that big (10MB as mentioned earlier is about normal but some only have 5 or 1MB limits and often companies will have the lower figures for users).

Email is not a recommended transfer method for files that big. You are better off putting the file on a website and emailing a link, or putting it on an FTP site and supplying access details.

It might be worth trying SendSpace.com which allows uploading and then you just send a link to the intended recipient. They encourage membership (for a fee) but there are slots available for downloading without paying them anything (they show ads on the download pages, and if there's no free slot, you have to wait 60 seconds before being able to try again).
