Maximum Line Speeds with MaxADSL

I have just seen this in Wikipedia Article with this graph Graph which seems to indicate that with my loop loss of 52dB I can potentially get over 4Mb/s instead of my present 1000kb/s.
Is this even remotely accurate.

holtlane, attenuation has nothing to do with what ur line can support, well not exactly, the higher the attnuation, the less chance u'll have of having a good SNR

Its down to SNR

If u have an snr of 10+dB ur line shud be stable.
For each doubling in speed u will loose about 6~8dB of SNR

so if u say have 23db on 1mbit, ur line could support 2.

BUT

Bt use attenuation as a rough estimate of what ur line will support so until max products come along theres no chance of getting more than 1mbit i'm afraid. If u were on LLU, since they use SNR u may have a chance depending on ur snr figure

Once max comes along, assuming ur snr figures are good theres a chance of 3~4mb

Thanks for the reply.
Unfortunately my router dosn't provide that info and a whoosh test only gave the following
Quote
xDSL Status Check OK
Circuit Information
Circuit In Sync
Upstream xDSL Link Info
Loop Loss 23.5 dB
Cell Count 291
Downstream xDSL Link Info
Loop Loss 52 dB
Cell Count 365

So I will just have to wait until my exchange is enabled - probably one of the last being out in the sticks
