MaxDSL - Where are we with it?

As the topic bluntly states.

What's the current situation regarding rolling out MAXdsl to existing customers?

There seems to be so much disinfortmation I'm now completely unclear what the current stance is? Is it on hold? Are upgrades taking place? Were/Are the stability issues with 1 in every 10 upgrades now resolved? Are BT accepting orders for upgrades?

I appreciate the answers to these questions, and more, have been given numerous times on various threads, but a definitive upto-date set would be nice.

Kind regards, Paul.

I'm as confused as you about this one. I asked to be upgraded at least four weeks ago, got an email saying it would take 3 weeks and then have heard nothing since.

Come on PlusNet, what's going on? Is my order being processed or is it just new customers that get 8Mb? What about us loyal customers who have been with you for years and have recommended dozens of other people to you?

they upgraded me with out telling me... then apologised that my line was slow... very slow slower than a snail with glue on its foot... it now max's out about 1.5MBps... which is only about 6-700 mbps it was when i had 2MB not really very good... usual excuse to far from exchnage etc....

so you may have been done (most of us have) and just not been told or realsie it yet..

Well regarding the "Queue jump" process.

I have no idea if it was a process that actually ever worked having submitted 3 requests (the first being on the 21st April and then the 15th and 27th June respectively) which have all been closed.

I'm now resigned to being "upgraded" at plusnet's convenience, I do however wish to, at the very least, know the upgrades are still being carried out and that whatever outstanding issues there were, they have been ironed out.

(I understand some individuals are (still) having severe issues but is that now the exception rather than a 10% certainty?)

Cheers, Paul.

Thank you for your response James.

Could I ask, and I understand you may not have the information at hand or have a timeframe when one would could be forthcoming, but at least update us of the current issues, both affecting plus.net and BT (and potentially any LLU connections, if appropriate).

My preference is to be in the know regardless of whether it's bad news or otherwise.

Thanks, Paul.

Paul,

If you look around these forums, you'll see BRAS related complaints, left, right and centre. We're also seeing sync related problems on a number of maxxed lines.

Basically, speed and reliability based problems.

Currently no timescale for when we will be restarting the upgrades.

S who or what is mucking around with my connection se below

I have been happily connected with no problems since upgrading at the start of July steady download speed of about 2779 to 2805 .
That was until 28/07/06 when interleaving was applied to my line without any consultation.see router logs below..

Judging from the relationship of synch rates and SNRs the connection between you and the exchange is jumping about like a cricket with St Vitus so It's probably not surprising you've been interleaved

The problem is either in your house or the BT connection to the exchange-- I take it you've checked all the possible culprits you have access to such as the ring wire, the router and going direct into the master socket, if so there is something very odd about the line to your exchange because with your attenuation you are close enough to the exchange to max out an ADSL2+ connection never mind a MaxDSL one!

Sorry to jump into a thread and ask questions, but whats this about the ring wire?

MaxDSL - Where are we with it?

I have had an email on the PlusNet service from a Technical
Director. The body of the message says that they are all very sorry for the problems over the past few months but all is now well again ! There are hardly any delays in answering tickets, the lines are back to full steam ahead, the flowers are blooming and it's sunny all day.
Things must be seen from a very different angle in Sheffield.
Down here on the Lizard in Cornwall...time is standing still.
We believe in Piskies and Fairies but the the promises from
Yorkshire needs an extra dollop of magic wand to be believed.
The chap from PlusNet giving the replies in this thread needs to have a word with the Tech department and lets know who to believe eh ?

MaxDSL - Where are we with it?

1) They're not doing their entire userbase
2) They have interleaving on as default
