MaxDSL - USB modem?

Apologies if this has been answered already, but I couldn't find it.

I have some friends/family using USB modems. Do they really need to keep their PC's powered up and connected for 10 days following their upgrade to MaxDSL?

It's easy with a router, but not everyone wants to keep a PC running all the time.

Thanks.

MaxDSL - USB modem?

Hi there,

The USB modem does not need to be connected for 10 days, as long as it has connected on three seperate occasions during the 10 day period it will be possible to determine a stable speed. Obviously the more connections there are during that period will increase the accuracy of the speeds reported.

As long as the connection is used three times during the ten day period, then yo shouldn't need to leave it powered up for the duartion.
