Lots of German spam

is suddenly hitting our plusnet a/c for the past 3 days. The senders are varied and it's addressed to non-existent aliases of our address. Anyone else getting this? Problem is I prefer Danish salami.

German Spam

Us too, the mail headers indicate it is coming from 194.164.231.162 which is a server within NetKonect's IP range. Have phoned their customer support and complained, emailed them with example headers but nothing has happened yet.
I guess they are not as reponsive as Plusnet. Wink

Lots of German spam

Hi there,

I believe it to be the second wave of the sober.p virus, infected machines started propogating these mails over the weekend AFAIK.

You're not the only one's I seem to be getting dozens of them too. As Bob says it's likely from the sober.p virus.

How do we do that? As I said they all vary in the sender domain and address, the content, and the alias@username.plusnet. They all also say at the bottom -

This email has been verified as Virus free
Virus Protection and more available at http://www.plus.net

- but I don't trust it.

I ain't too worried 'cos I use Mailwasher, but they're a nuisance.

These others are staff, not sure they would want to say this.

As mentioned, these are likely to be the produce of infected machines, not neccessarily virulent emails themselves.

Viruses

Hi,

Yep!! Confirm same lots of german or dutch or danish spam but fortunately the F9 spam & anti virus service is catching most of them and Mailwasher Pro 5 is detecting the remaining ones. Its just the sheer quantity that's abit suprising at times I had 66 spam /virus ridden mail in one session with only x1 email being legit seems like a sign of times we now live in.

Is there a portal tool that can filter out specific addresses?

[Edit] I've found it here under Help > Email > Email Security;
I was looking under My Account > Email Settings.

Someone really should sort out the Portal Navigation; there's loads of useful stuff there that's quite hard to find! :!:
