Logging in to webspace ftp - Or NOT actually!

OK - I give up! What am I doing wrong?
I tried to up my website last night to my web space at http://www.jbtesting.plus.com using the password that I use to log in to - well - here amongst other pages, and it won't have anything to do with me! I just cycle between User Name and Password prompts until I weaken and go home crying.
I'm using Cute Ftp and the settings from the Tech Help page.
It IS the same password isn't it? The One I use to log into webmail and this site in general right?
If so, whassup! Any ideas?
Help.

Hi,

Yes, you use the same username and password you use to access these pages. I've highlighted that part of your comment because - you have a free account and you cannot access it from a non-plusnet connection. This means that if you're trying to upload files from work (hence the go home bit) you won't be able to.

You can do this if you have a paid account however - At only £4.99 (incVAT) a month, our PlusNet Lite account offers the sort of features you'd expect for accounts costing many times the price. It's ideal for web hosting.

Hope that resolves your queries. I have successfully logged in from here so i'm assuming the above applies.

Kind Regards,
Mike

Ah Haaaaaa!
Thankyou Mike - will try that.
Must have missed that (rather crucial!) bit of info. Where on the plusnet site should I check for this or other instructions? Can you point me at it?
Thanks again!

Hi again,

The link you're looking for is the FAQ part of the site, the link's on the left, but for your reference, it's here:

http://www.plus.net/supportpages.html?a=160

Hit control-F and type in FTP. You'll jump to this part:

"I am trying to upload to my web site but I keep getting refused, I know the username and password is correct and I am trying to upload to ftp.plus.net

If you have a free account with us, for security reasons we do require that you dial in using PlusNet

If your account is a paid account you can dial in from wherever you like to access the ftp server."

Hope this helps,

Mike
