Level 3 washington down again

Hi walespc,
Can you please post a traceroute of any affected routes you have noticed? I have just performed a traceroute to www.microsoft.com as I am [quite] sure it normally goes via Level3 washington - it is going via New York now.

A very good bit of software that you can download (not free but you can try it for a period) is called "Visual Route" I fid this very useful and it gives you a graphical map of where any inernet call is routed along with a listing and ping times.

It has other features too which will tell who is at the end of an IPaddress.

I was impressed and bought it after the trial period.

Thanks for the tip John! Just googled for it, and this link turned up about it - looks like quite a useful piece of software. WinMTR is also useful for this type of thing (although it doesn't show a nice map of the route like VisualRoute does).
