Hi im shortly going to be setting up a netowrk at a friends house using a router (wireless) they also require the printer to be installed on the network. i was wondering which would be the best way to do this as im unsure of how to myself

Easiest - enable file sharing and share the printer.

if the printer does not have a network lan interface then you have to connected it to a pc and use network share to allow other users access to it

Sorry i forgot to mention the netwrok will be wireless.. by doing adding it to another pc will that mean the pc has to be on for the printer to share?

Yes.

The other options are to add either a LAN printer server box, unless the printer has a LAN connection.

You can get both Wireless and Wired Print server boxes.

Yes.

You can add printers directly to networks but it can be expensive. Do a search for HP jetdirect printer server - around £150 -> £200 or try to find a similar product.

You could also use a wireless print server, several manufacturers have these.

BUT make sure the printer(s) you have will work with the print server device you elect to use.
