Interleaving

Hi, Has anyone had an improvement to their connection by having interleaving turned on?

Interleaving

Yes - the number of uncorrected errors dropped dramatically

Interleaving

Thanks Jim, I will try switching my router on and off tomorrow and see what happens.

Be careful - doing this will also make your target SNR rise as soon as interleaving is enabled.

Not sure when mine changed but my target snr is 12.5db which is a bit high but 9db would be close to unstable overnight
Just to add. These are from my router which shows the extent of my problem

That is not always the case. My line is Interleaved and the target SNR is 6db and always has been, even before Interleaving was activated. I don't think that there is a hard and fast rule as to what BT's DLM will do in any given situation.

Interleaving has absolutely nothing to do with the target SNR.

If the EU is forcing the rise of their target SNR then in a lot of cases, interleaving will come on at the same time the target SNR is upped.

Interleaving

Agreed. BT often do them both at the same time. I was merely saying that they are completely separate things.

As the PlusNet system wasn't showing interleaving being enabled although it was Ian Wild put through an interleave request which has worked in that the interleaving button has appeared.
Unfortunately it appears that the act of doing this increased my default snr from 12.5 to 15.5 and my synch rate has just dropped to the point where my stable rate will reduce from 2500 to 2000.
You can appreciate that I am not too happy as previously I had a stable synch rate on just over 3000 kbps and now its down to 2816 kbps and I can't do anything about it
