OK, You ask CS a simple question, tell them that you've already done the BT speed test and it shows an IP Profile of 1500, which is significant'y lower than the synch speed, and that the line is capable of far better. CS then takes 12 hours to reply to a simple question, before saying "Check your exchange status, and run a BT speed test." I ALREADY DID!

The problem I have is little or nothing to do with the VPath problems BT are experiencing at their exchanges - it results from a fault on the line that resulted in max lowering and lowering my ip profile as a result of a disconnect each time the phone rang! The fault has since been repaired by BT by moving my line to a new set of cables.

Currently, I'm synched quite steadily at 7616, withe a BRAS of 3000, and an IP Profile of 1500.

I do not want to wait for a CS response for 12 hours only to have CS ignore the info I've given them by asking me for that same info. That's absolutely rediculous! It might be nice perhaps If CS noted that I had already told them of my previous problems, and just thought for one darned moment that I actually know what's happened, have given the required information, and am directly asking for the precise solution!

Instead, it looks to be the beginnings of a game of slow-motion ticket tennis.

Hi,

Your bRAS is NOT 3000kbps. It is 1728kbps. As such, we have you profiled at 1500kbps. It was last updated yesterday, so if you maintain those levels of sync, I would hopefully expect to see your speeds increase on the 14th.

heh - it was 3000 when I checked last night, and every night before.

Edit: And the portal is STILL showing 3000.

OK, No problem (and thanks) - so why didn't CS say that? Why instead should they say "Check the exchange and run a bt speedtest", ignoring the fact that I already have? Why have I been seeing the exact same limited speed for about a week if the profile only changed yesterday?

I don't know. Something I'm going to raise internally though.

I've just amended your speed at our end to show a more realistic figure.

Hi James -

It's the evening of the 14th, I've been entirely stable and have resynched each day consistantly at 448/7616, and still I get the following...

Quote
IP profile for your line is - 1500 kbps
DSL connection rate: 448 kbps(UP-STREAM) 7616 kbps(DOWN-STREAM)

...As you said - I should be seeing a faster speed today?

just wondering, I've been having low sync problems and everytime my phone rings it knocks the internet off, but only when I'm less than about 1500K.

is this right? all the test point to a noise fault in my house, what could it be?

Just replied to you in your own thread over on Broadband Help. Please stick to your own thread, as I'm trying to get my own issues resolved, and yours are completely different by the sound of it. If you want it moved to this forum, PM a mod and ask nicely Wink Smiley

I want to ask a question regarding this....

I had an IP profile of 3000, which I would say is correct.
I go on holiday and its suddenly 1500...whyHuh

SO I get the impression you go on holiday and you get a lower profile....

@cddsystems your sig says "LLU'd" so surely your profile should be 8000 all the time?
