I can only access the PlusNet site...

I was checking out my account on PlusNet and decided to open another tab. There was an error 404 when I tried to browse. I tried my email and that failed, I then tried the address bar at the top and that failed.

I'm not over my limit of 2GB peek time but combined with my off peak time usage I'm over the 2GB limit. It looks like I have been redirected so that I can only use the PlusNet site.

My ticket number is: 21468867

Would somebody check why I'm being restricted please?

There doesn't appear to be anything specific on your account suggesting why, however we are experiencing DNS issues currently, which may be the reason for your current difficulties.

How come I can access the PlusNet site and not other sites? I would have thought that if t was a dns problem then I wouldn't be able to access the net full stop.

It has to be the system thinking I've gone over my limit and redirecting me to use only the PlusNet site surely...

Hi John,

Can you disconnect so that I can test this our side for you? I can't see any restrictions on your account or your RADIUS profile so this shouldn't be anything to do with your usage but I'd like to make sure.

I can see nothing wrong with your account. Have you tried disconnecting and reconnecting?

do all other sites return a 404 error? Can you get to http://www.force9.net?

Can you traceroute to the sites you can't access?

Also if your like me and the computer stays on 24/7 you can get that whole routing table issue so a reboot of all your equipment might be in order

My apologies, it was the dns settings after all. I changed them to:

212.159.13.50

212.159.6.10

Now I'm able to use the rest of the internet again.
