Hi,

Can you post the tracert? I've not seen any other reports so it could be a number of things. The trace would be useful to see.

I'd also suggest disconnecting and reconnecting and trying to get on PTN-AG2 as that's got quite a bit of spare capacity it on it.

Horrible laggy browsing but fast speedtests

Sorry but I didn't think to copy the tracerts at the time ( Shockedops: ) however I noticed these were the two hops that were troublesome:
 18 ms 106 ms 21 ms lo0.plusnet.thn-ag1.plus.net [195.166.128.101]

50 ms 20 ms 18 ms vl703.thn-gw2.plus.net [84.92.4.242]
with the timings on vl703 running 200-300ms

it's all got better once the little hand reached 10. but thanks for your attention again mr t.

Tough to make a call, a high first hop ping could indicate local exchange side contention kicking in. The graphs don't show anything obvious but I'll keepa look out.

I have had this problem for weeks but have not bothered to raise it. Tonight however my speeds are great and pages are downloading almost instantly like the used to.

Horrible laggy browsing but fast speedtests

Hi

This was happening to me last night, but speedtests were a bit laggy as well. Put it down to using wireless though on my laptop, as I had a baby monitor on as well, assumed there was a bit of interference, but it may be a symptom of what you are seeing. BBMAX shows normal speedtests, but laggy, with the speedtest sometimes completely stopping halfway through, and then resuming very fast!!.. Not on a gateway as such as I am using the RIN network.

Hi there,

If the problems are showing on RIN as well that doesn't point to a problem on our network.

It's definitely strange though, are the speeds and sites OK now?

I had exactly the same problem last night - speed tests OK but sites very laggy.
Didn't think of doing tracert so can't confirm anything there.
Everything OK this morning and Yes - I am on RIN

Hmm, looks like RIN is the common denominator.

I'll connect via RIN this evening and see if I can spot anything. In the meantime if anyone else has any problems during today please let me know so we can look into it.

That looks at first glance as a DNS lookup problem.
Which DNS servers are you using.
