Home Page

I am a new member and notice that to access my email I have to sign on with my ID and password twice, once on the home page and then again on the Plus Mail page.
Am I missing something here? Is a direct link to the inbox possible with just one sign in please?

PS. Very impressed with the service so far. Thanks.

RE: Home Page

Good Evening,

I'm glad that you're happy with the service. Thanks for letting us know.

Onto your problem.
Was there a delay from when you logged onto the portal to when you logged onto the webmail? Or did you just select webmail shortly after logging in?

Kind Regards

Duncan

RE: Home Page

It always does that... its like the code on the submit button on the main page points to the same place as the link on the PlusMail bit on the side bar...

RE: Home Page

Good Evening,

It shouldn't be doing that. Please just confirm that the address bar shows http://portal.plus.net/ for both times when you have to log in.

Kind Regards

On the first (home ) page the link is ---

http://portal.plus.net/imap.html?pn_session= (lots of numbers which I havent posted incase security is an issue)Then --

That takes you to the Plusmail page and the next link is ---
http://portal.plus.net/imap.html? (another load of numbers) which takes you to the inbox. Hope this helps.
Ill check back tomorrow evening. Thanks for your interest.

RE: Home Page

In my experience, it's ALWAYS been like this - I now always click PlusMail from the side bar then log in - submitting details on the front page has never effected a login in to PlusMail (though I'm sure it was meant to).

Good morning all,

Have you set up the Auto-login feature? This should cut out the need to login to different parts of our portal. You can choose how long the Auto login lasts (Hours, Days, Weeks or Years).

Please let me know if I can help you any furteher.

Regards,

Dave

Hello again,

Just to add to the posting I have made above.

The reason you have to login twice is that there are 2 types of mail login, because there are 2 ways of using our PlusMail service. Here's a brief overview:

1. Mailbox Login (The bar on the top of the Portal)

Use this to access mail sent to a specific mailbox (if you have set one
up)
e.g. mailboxname@accountname.plus.com
Mailboxes are a really useful tool. You can find more about them here: http://portal.plus.net/supportpages.html?a=162
(You can manage your Mailboxes from the Portal's "My Control Panel")

N.B. If you don't have any mailboxes set-up, you will be taken to your default inbox (where your email sent to anything@username.plus.com goes).

2. PlusMail Login (The link on the left hand menu)

Use this to access your email normally (if you haven't set-up mailboxes)

So, if you don't want to check a specific mailbox, or if you haven't set any up yet, the best solution is to use the link on the left-hand menu to access your email, and that way, you'll only have to login once.

If you need any extra information with these features, have a look at our Support Pages http://portal.plus.net/supportpages.html?a=11 they're really helpful and have screenshots too.

I hope this brief overview explains things for you better!

Regards,

Dave
