This product would have been ideal at a £29.99 price point but not £34.99

Oh well, I will be staying at 512k for the time being

£35 is about right for the connection its the regrade aka reconnection price thats far too much, BT was touting something like 35 for the regrade for existing customers not the full £55

ed: btw that £35 is it ex vat or including
Unvalued customer since 2001 funding cheap internet for others / DSL/Fibre house move 24 month regrade from 8th May 2017

I am also suprised that the regrade price is £50+ VAT. THis price was also given for a regrade from 50:1 home user to 20:1 1MB and 2MB connections, so how can staying on 50:1 be the same price?

I would have been far happier paying £35 but not £50 to upgrade from 512K 50:1 to !MB 50:1.

1 Meg Upgrade

If you're allready at the 512 one then the upgrade should be free.

If you're prepared to pay for the larger monthly rental.

The upgrade isn't free.

This is mainly caused by BT and there administration and handling charge, which they are entitled to.

There is little and no support required on a specific lines in reality, however, when a customer requests changes that are not the fault of BT, they are entitled to handling costs.

Hi there,

Currently ADSL Home 1Mb & EasyStart 1Mb are trial products, based upon BT's IPStream 1000 trial product. During the trial period, submission of regrades is set to be a manually intensive process. Until the trial period ends, and if successful as expected, BT will most likely implement an automated process. At this point we will review the regrade fee. Until then our regrade fee covers the real cost of administration.

Regards
Chris
