Help with speeds

Hi All

There are a load of threads on here for downloads speeds and I've done my best at reading them but....

Can someone have a quick look at this and tell me what they think:

ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 7744 kbps 448 kbps
Line Attenuation 35 db 10 db
Noise Margin 3 db 25 db

What sort of speeds should I be getting?
The speed test has me around this:

Date Speed Achieved (kbps)
05-12-2006 20:30:48 1755.8
03-12-2006 11:24:03 1994.6
03-12-2006 11:23:29 1964.9
26-11-2006 21:56:33 1903
25-11-2006 11:03:27 2031.3
25-11-2006 11:02:53 2061.5

Should I keep resetting the routre or is there something else wrong?

Thanks in advance

yup, plusnet is the problem

you should be getting 4 times that speed, re-syncing your router will not help, your stable rate is most probably 6500 but due to plusnets throttling regime you can expect your connection to underperform at all times.

look at these forums and see for yourself .. speed of service is a very popular subject for all the wrong reasons im afraid.

To see an improvement you need to leave to another ISP or be prepared for months of misery.

unfortunate but true.

btw, your SNR seems very low, are you getting frequent disconnects ? anything below 6 is bad news, check your telephone wiring and condition of any extensions etc.

Help with speeds

Hi,

Looks like we haven't had a delta report through from BT to say what speed your line is, I've manually updated the date, can you give the router a reboot and try again, should go above 2Mbps now.
