Happy with plusnet

been online a month after migratin and the service is good. I was worried about ping times in games but these are good as well. I dont download a lot on my 2meg speed but when I have the speeds are maxed out fast so overall I reckon I will be with plusnet for a good while. I think this portal thing is great as well easy to navigate if we get stuck for info

Me still very happy too,

'got about 7 PlusNET Broadband ADSL circuits now... Cheesy and I am about to recommend it to a lot more people...

(I just noticed, I have been a customer for three years!)

Why do I like PN:-

* Rock solid Broadband (virtually no hassles at all - Prolly as good as 99.99% uptime)
* Friendly and helpful telephone support (especially recently)
* Competitive price
* Good portal facilities (inc forums and on-line help)

True I am a non-demanding 512 customer but look forward to trying out 2M when I get it (BT just makes me smile ~ Smiley

Come to think of it so does C&W

Oh and Zen

K, I must stop bitchin now!

(True I have just had glass of wine!)

Cheers & well done PN!

UNHAPPY...

See how you feel when the damn thing crawls at 840Kb on 2Mb. My speeds are all over the show - utterly unreliable. Surfing is possible but try playing online games or streaming a video... Pants! Cry

Hi there,

Have you checked your exchange at http://usertools.plus.net/exchanges/?

Please try running 3 BT speedtests at least 30 minutes apart, instructions available at http://usertools.plus.net/tutorials/id/27.

But as you know anything over 400Kbps is seen by BT as within spec. So, at 840Kbps, I am appraently doing very well. The selling of 'upto' 2Mb is a con job since even 1840Kbps is rare. What a sad state of affairs that BT can't even get it to 2Mb in the 21st Century technologically whizz bang century. How many centuries before video and online games are fully usable? BT needs to be removed as the obstacle to the Net future of the UK.

Tell you what, why does not Plusnet complain to BT and Ofcom about the lack of bandwidth? I have seen may users on here and elsewhere complaining of the same.

I tried Blueyonder before I came to PN a few years ago and PN was then better for gaming. I wonder whether Blueyonder has improved. I think I might giove them a try again. There's no point in moving between ADSL ISPs since I'd get the same crap. I bet the BY 2Mb is very close to 2Mb. So, the £35 a month might not be so bad.

Trouble is as you say, the BT infrastructure.
I heard a rumour that PN were looking into LLU, but I'm not sure if its true or not?

Well, if you run the BT speedtest it will rule out any problems within our network, so it's still worth trying.
